I finally got around to making a proper heat shield for the stainless Blitz Filter, this is the prototype..... it works.

I ran the car for 20 mins with the bonnet down (at idle), the filter mesh was roasting, took her for a spin, parked up, opened the bonnet and bingo, engine hot, Filter not!

It's made from alloy sheet and this one is riveted together, goes nice with my new Pro-Maf.
What you think?

I allready export to most countries, including Sweden, Switzerland and Australia, so the US shouldn't be a problem.
The "biggest" problem is trying to source them here, I've seen me waiting 6 weeks to get one imported as there's only one importer in the UK. I also make the billeted adapter plates for them.

I like all the caps and strut tower thingies. Can you get those that say "ford" or maybe even blank? Very nice.

If you check the link in my sig, you'll see I run a company who make styling parts for 'Tours/Mondies etc. I'm prototyping SVT strut caps and engine cap covers this week.

that's tight as hell, I'd buy one right now if you can esport/import them. Try joe@spmotorsports.com or BATinc. either one of those companys would be a good place to start.

I do not see any benefit to a piece like that!

It does not keep the hot underhood air away from the filter. All it does is make the filter "effectively" pull from a smaller portion as it disrupts airflow over the portion it covers.

Not only that but being metal it absorbs and transfers heat to the air directly next to the filter!

A heat shield should block off the area around the filter from the rest of the underhood air.
Metallic shields such as those are just for looks and actually cause worse performance and more heat soak.

I have to agree with Demon here. It looks the shiz but I don't think it is too functional at reducing too much heat.

I agree with the physics on what you're saying demon, but I'd like to see some temp measurements before I made that sort of comment. I think it looks tight as hell and it indeed blocks heat at the base of the filter. My guess is that the sheild itself is coated.....
