Well my car is sitting down at Applebee's and it won't start. You can hear the starter turning and it's turning the engine b/c you can feel the car shake. What could be the problem.

It may be your timing belt..
That just happened to my car last week.. Then someone tried to fix it, and I think that the timing is still off time

Could you tell us a little more about the problem,,,was it acting funny before this, does it have gas in it, did you check all you wiring under the hood, did you check the fuses, do you have an alarm and if so does it have a starter or engine kill? Whats the last modification you did before the car died?Have you tried jump starting it?Have you checked your sparkplug wires? Start with these answers and let us know what you come up with

I drive a Ford, what else do you need to know??

well I just changed the plugs and wires about 3 weeks ago.
I put those Denso Iridium plugs in it and some cheap wires from autozone. I gapped the plugs a little smaller than the normal gap so i think that's the problem.

I just read that if the battery is low, the alarm will not allow the car to start unless you push the "Emergency Override Button" for some reason.

When the car alarm is going off and your remote battery is dead there is a button that you press while you are starting your car to turn off the alarm. They are supposed to be hidden in a different place in every car, even tho mine is in a pretty obvious place--right above the fuel cut sticker in the drivers footwell. Look in your alarm manual. It should explain this better and theres a place to write in where your button is.

i think either you are incorrect about this or if yours works like that it is not a very good alarm????
the switch you are talking about is called a valet switch.. its what you do to put the alarm in the off position so someone can drive your car like going up the ramp on a parking garage and not worrying about the alarm... when you pick your car up you switch it back to regular alarm so it will work correctly.... with your alarm/or the way you saw it works is Like: a low or no battery in the remote is like having no remote, such is the case when a thief is stealing the car, he does not have the remote so he just breaks the window and then reached under the dash and pushes a button and the alarm goes off????? dont think so..

Do think so. Its not the valet button that I'm talking about. I know what that is, and thanks for insulting my intelligence. It IS the emergency override button. It IS in my drivers footwell. It DOES allow you to turn off the alarm WHEN YOU HAVE A KEY. If a theif has the key, you would be kinda SOL anyways. Read your alarm manual if you have one, and you'll know about the button. I believe it was the upgraded factory alarm. As I said the button is supposed to be hidden. Mine is just in a pretty obvious place. If a theif knew where a LoJac system was he could just take it out and leave it in a dumpster....

Sorry to vent...
