The shift interlock (unlocks auto shift lever when foot on brake)on my 95 Mystique is acting strange. A couple times in the last month, it did not unlock when I pressed on the brake. The click in the console was also not heard. My brake lights worked, so I think the brake light switch is OK. Both times it happened, it was after the car was run for a while, then locked with the keyless entry. I had to manually released the interlock per the instructions in the owner's manual. A little while later the problem vanishes. I can't make it happen! I can't seem to make it go away with with the keyless or turning car on and off! It has a mind of it's own.
I'm not sure if this is related, but prior to the problem, I had the car to the dealer for an ABS light on. They did a lot of analysis, and ended up replacing a front and back wheel sensor (said diagnostic computer was giving misleading results, saying three sensors were bad) That problem is now fixed. I don't know how this could be related???
