Hi Guys,

I'm trying to install my PIAA 510 Foglight from the group buy on my 95 Ford Contour. I can't seem to remove the top screw for the OEM bracket. Anyone have any advice? The screw seems to be behind a piece of the frame, and I don't think I have enough room to get anything in between. Any suggestions? Remove the whole bumber? Let me know!

Thanks,
Zack

I had same problem. Need a small (#1) philips screwdriver and a lot of patience. My screw was hard to turn too.

You can pop the stock lights out of the bracket to get the screw out. But putting it in with the PIAA's installed is a real biatch.

Repeat: Lots of patience and a small screwdriver.

I did it so you can too...

Good luck..

Is the Post 98 design different from the Pre 98? I figured since the body is different, I may have a harder time accessing the screws than others. Have other people done this without removing the front bumper on a 95-97?

Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Zack

Don't know the difference, but my upper screw was a biatch. There is a frame piece that blocks direct access to the screw on mine. I used a Craftsman #1 philips regular screwdriver. The standard philips is a #2 and it was too large to get a bite on the screw. I was able to pop the original light out of the bracker so I could see exactly what I was dealing with. I had to put it back together blind which was harder than removing it.

Ultimately, I guess someone with a pre-98 can give you a better grip on this. My 99 SE Sport was different than the SVT picture, so there probably is a difference among brackets.
