Need help with the cel i have a 97 se 2.5 5spd a/c mooonroof 4 wheel disc. The only mod is a free flow cat 21/4 pipe free flow muffler with k&n filter. The big? is the car has 85g just replaced uim stocker from ford lim cleaned all new gasket imrc new iac new all4 o2 new plugs wire about 1500. buck i did all the wok my self also dpfe was replaced. SO when i take it to ford for the cel they said it was code #s po133 po401 p1137 p0171 p1519 p401 and p1408 that is why i replaced all the parts. after about a week of driver the cel is on for pnp 1709? but the car will not started if the clu is all the way to the floor need help before i mod the car need to have the car run graet !!!!! ???? P.S . i got all the codes from ford from there tech they replaced dpfe i did the gaskets new uim imrc and ds o2. Then us o2 iac lihgt back on just did bank #2 both o2 like i saID NEED HELP
AS you can see i have had a lot of code get thougt out at me all at 1 time almost if it was not for a budy a advant auto part that told me about this site i dont know what i would have done
A little hard to decipher your post, but frankly the chance of that many components becoming faulty at the same time is highly unlikely.
Suggest you check clutch pedal switches to ensure physical mounting and wiring are ok. Also check back-up light operation and if inoperative but bulbs are ok then check gear position switch on top of transmission.
Sorry it was late when i posted my frist post cel was on for a little time before i take it to ford and that is when i get all the codes all but 1709. Did all the work to fix the problem drove the car for about a week cel back on for iac replaced it. Drove a couple of day light on agian take it to a friend check codes 420 and 1709 was in the bank. But i just replaced those o2 so we check all 4 os to see what there were down dsterm os in bank 2 was bad is i repalced both. Drove the car for 2 days lihgt back on code420 i think that code 1709 was just a computer fart. But now the only code is that fing bad cat code not good . Is it possible that with the free flow exhast will that trip 420??? also should i replace both bank 1 & bank 2 cats with the ones from msds or the ones from ford?? Just read the myst mod for the tour and the mil. Will these mods cause any of the other system to barf a cel need to know will down this on sat if it don't will also do the y pipe mod. P.s i have 85642k on my tour take it to ford before my warranty was up they said that cat aren't cover but i find out that thats big B S so to all ceg'er is this mod cool it sound like it is the best bing for the buck thank need to get more cer'er up this way for a meet i would love to go to the sprig zing once again . thank to all that repal CB from NY
