Ok, a question regarding strut posistion changes. I had my struts replaced with the BAT special at a local dealer. I just looked at the engine bay when the wheels were turned. 1 top of the strut was tweaked towards the firewall, the other top of the strut was towards the radiator. They were not in their normal central location on the strut tower. Is this normal on our cars? Should I be concerned? If it is normal, this is evidence of quite a bit of suspension geometry change during cornering...

Nevermind... I did some calling around and it seems it is probably the upper front strut bushings. This also might be the source of a wierd clunk/click noise from the front left side during bumps/potholes in the road.

Do you know the nut that you see when looking at the tops of your struts? It is loose, causeing your struts to bounce around. Grab a box end wrench (18mm) and a allen wrench (3mm) and tighten that nut up. Use the allen wrench to hold the strut shaft in place and keep it from rotateing while tightening the nut.

3mm allen key vs. 18mm box wrench, I don't like those odds .

Naw dude! I am talking about here... Not the nut on the spring hat. Use the allen wrench inside the strut shaft to keep it from spinning and tighten the nut with the wrench. This nut simply secures the strut assy to the body. This nut is loose and is allowing the strut to bounce around in there.
