I have a 96 Mystique with power windows. Recently, the driver side window is screwing up. When you go to put it down, it will go down all the way, I know they're suppose to, but this one seems unstoppable. When it's down, it won't go up! When I push the up button, it just clicks, I believe the clicking to be the motor. Can anybody tell me where to look first? I understand these switches are somewhat expensive and I don't want to replace anything that might not be the problem. Thanks alot guys, I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

sorry, but you probably have the cable in the window regulator that is eating up the plastic covering on the regulator... i had this, you gotta take the door panel off and then glass out to take the regulator out to replace it... get a haynes manual at autozone for about $12.00 and it will walk you through the process.. i think the window regulator which comes with motor(complete) cost about $120 at the dealer.... its a common problem...i tried fixing mine.. i have a small metal cutting lathe and some cables from a motorcylce shop and i still could not get it to work..i broke down and bought a new one...

I'm not having the same problem, but just today putting up the same window, the side by the mirror (towards the front of the car) is not going up anymore. the back part is and as a result the glass is brought up on an angle. Has this happened to anyone?? Thoughts?

Thanks, ~Kenneth

actually, to add to that. about two months ago ice fell on that mirror and bent the plastic "sail panel" in towards the window track. A few times the window got slowed down when I was putting it up, but this is the first where from any position, the window doesnt go up evenly.
