Would it be a good idea to have a custom built box that surrounds the strut brace or would it be better if it went under the brace? I want the car to look like a show car and I have 2 10's in a bandpass box. please help! tia Johnny

I'm guessing that nobody has thought of this or doesn't know?

if you built a box that surrounds the bar, then how would you get either one out if you wanted too?
it would be completely cosmetic. what do you want to see when you look inyour trunk
me personaly, my trunk is going to have the bar above the box.

some people build the boxes where they take up the entire space towhere you cant place a tower bar but yeah if you same it small enough or save ample room i am sure you can do that

right now i have the box and amp against the rear seat with brackets on top of the box. the brackets are there so that the brace can hold the box in, so it won't move. it looks okay but I was just seeing if there was a way to make it look nicer. I will try and post a pic if i can. thanks for all the input, johnny

All you have to do to make it look nicer and much like a profesional "show car" install is keep the box how it is and build a new front to it. Just make a vertical peice of carpeted wood from the floor to the top of the trunk, shaped to the sides, and with two spots cut out for your subs, Mount it to the sub box and then to brackets somehow on top and bottom. This way it will cover up whatever is behind it like the strut bar and box and look like two flush mounted subs. It's hard to explain but thats my suggestion.
Cheers

You could make them fit together fairly easy, but requires a custom box. If you have 12's you could either notch the top of the box (would be be a big notch) so that the bar can still fit (side profile of the box would have a "U" shape) Or if you can determine the height of the bar, cut a square shaft through the box (or if you have port material, make it round). Basically you would run the bar through the hole you made, but the hole would be a sealed chamber, thus you are only losing air space and not air
