Cool movie, i'd bet it is true. It takes an artist to come up with all of those possible combination, probably somebody who does this stuff.

I can just about everything in the video except the tires rolling up the incline...I just don't see how physically that can work...but definitely a unique commercial...leave it to the Japs to think of something like that.

that is an unbelievable Rube Goldberg machine, and I am willing to put money that it is all real. As was said before, the tires likely are top weighted, and when the bottom one is bumped the weight carries it up hill. Most likely it hits the next tire with the weight at about 1/2 to 3/4. this is why it continues to roll uphill. There are likely angled brackets that the tire can roll uphill over, but can't roll back down (like a fixed toll-booth spike strip type thing).
Excellent find.

From what I read, the wheels were indeed done with weights in them. And it's actually 4-5 takes merged onto one film. Great commercial, anyway. Too bad we'll never see it on TV here. Or the wagon.

No way. There have to be tricks, just think of a roller coaster. Each progressive hill has to be smaller because there isn't enough energy left to carry the train. This is similar, not doubting that Honda engineers could think of the most subtle tricks, just tricks none the less. It has to be, I have to check with some people and see if the wheels would work, even if they are weighted. Cool, very cool, either way.
Ahh, I see the trick in the wheel section. Watch it on Quicktime and do it frame by frame. Each tire is in front of the one it strikes. They aren't really hitting, just appears that way. Check it out, each wheel seems to get smaller and smaller. I still don't know how they made them move though, but I'm on it.

the wheels had to have been weighted and balanced. anyone who has changed tires knows that wheels are not balanced on their center line and they will roll to the outside.
