I got my 98.5 dynoed for the first time. It is stock, and I did not know what to expect. It dynoed at 129.9hp. I thought it would have been higher. The tourqe did not work because something under my hood was to hot for something to stick. Well thats all I had to say, does anyone else have a stock hp number, I would like to see how close I am to theirs.

i haven't dyno'd mine but that seems damn low for a stock svt. i thought most stock svt's should dyno around 160 or so....

A stock SVT should be about 165 hp, give or take a few.
Either the dyno was messed up or something is seriously wrong with your car.

From what I understand, the HP comes from torque divided by something and RPM.... So w/o torque you could not have HP rating. If it was one of those mobile dynos, those are always off.

Ya it was one of those mobile dyno's. I thought something did not seem right. I know my car is fine, it has 40000km and runs strong.

yeah, i saw them dyno a heavily modded rx-7 on one and it showed some seriously low numbers for what he had done. Probably discouraged the guy. The one I saw the guy hooking up the thing asked loudly if the curve was looking right or whatever when he was setting up thing to measure RPMs and what not. Some guy from crowd answered and that's what he went on.

My car is a 98 SVT, and it baselined at 163 whp back in 1998. That was on a Dynojet dyno (SHOshop), what kind of dyno was used for yours? Mustang dyno? That new Dynapak where they remove the wheels? Was that number SAE corrected? Are there any factors that could obscure the numbers so badly? Most SVT's are around the 160-170's stock, 170's and up for simple bolt-on's, like an open air filter and a good cat-back exhaust.
