I have read many comments about putting a restrictor tube into a vacuum line in order to keep the SVT V-6 from staying at a high idle between shifts. I have also heard that this may hurt mid range performance on the newer SVT's. Has anyone tried this mod on a 1999 Contour SVT? If so, please let me know how it turned out. Also, please explain how it is done again.
Thanks in advance.

Quit feeding your car weed. and yes you can put a plug in the tube. Some cars seem to work better with different size holes drilled in the plugs. Got to find the match for your car.
