A few weeks ago, I noticed a noise coming from my driver side front wheel as I was driving. It sounded like something was sticking. I could best describe it as a clicking sound every time the wheel completed a revolution. Quickly, the noise developed into a squeal when the brake pedal was applied. More recently, I noticed that the squeal was ever-present and was only silenced when the brakes were applied. A few days ago, the squeak started to get louder, and whenever I was braking from 10 mph or so I would hear and feel a hefty grinding coming from the brakes. Mind you that the car still stops on a dime. I used to own a Toyota, and the thing went through brakes faster than some people go through oil changes, so I have a general idea of how pads and rotors normally wear. This is something new to me. Lastly, I'll mention that I pulled off the wheel yesterday to inspect the brake hardware. I noticed that the inside of the rotor was worn and grooved, yet the outer part was smooth and not warped. Also, the outer pad had about 40% of the meat left. I'm foggin clueless. Any ideas? As always, any help is appreciated.
