Don't know what year/powertrain you have. If it's a 95, like my 2, the hoses (made by BadYear) leak a little. I used the stopleak-conditioner for R134 and they have not leaked in over 2 years.
If the fan(s) are dead, or there is not enough air circulation, the compressor will cycle on/off real fast because of the high pressure in the system. There is a electrical pressure switch that turns the fans on high speed. I helped another CEGer with his wiring and switch problem and learned the system in the process. A week later, my radiator fans catch fire, didn't know it at first but I heard the compressor going on and off real fast and the Temp rising a little. By the time I pulled over smoke was pouring out.
