Greetings. smile
I'm new to this forum so please be patient.
My 1995 Countour GL (4-cyl) with 91,000 miles
gives me intermittent "check engine".
The codes I can get are 335 and 327
The book says someting about EGR differential
pressure sensor and/or solenoid. Both mounted
on the firewall.
Will changing these most likely fix the problem?
What's the cost? What else should I look for?

I really like the Contour. It's fun and mostly
reliable except for this problem. CEG seems like
a great forum to exchange ideas. Thanks in advance
for your help. Please send private e-mail or
post reply.

Most likely changing both will help the problem, but be more costly.

My DPFE went bad and I got the CEL light intermittently at first, then continuously after a couple of months. It turned out that it was just the DPFE (differential pressure sensor) that was making the light come on.

You could test the solenoid by connecting it to twelve volts and seeing if it actuates (you can probably feel it click). If so, then replace the DPFE.
I kind of think that is the problem anyway as solenoids are pretty reliable.

Its not a horrible car, but things do tend to break without much warning and can be REALLY costly.
