This morning, my older sister had an appointment at Clair VW/Mazda in Saco, ME, to have the front brakes done on her '99 VW Beetle. The techs there managed to break the locking hubs on her car's front wheels, and also they managed to break the little tool that they were trying to use to get said hubs unlocked. They told my sister that if she wanted to leave her car there to await repair, then, she would have to pay for a rental car herself.
Eventually, my sister got to talk to the Manager. He confirmed what she told him about the problem, and then, proceeded to claim that the "hubs were already stripped" when the car was brought in. My sister pointed out to him that she did not go to any old "joe-schmoe" garage to get her car worked on, that since she bought the car, she had ALL of the servicing done right at Clair VW/Mazda. Thus, if the hubs were stripped, it was because of the morons working in the service dept. The mgr. totatlly blew her off and said that he wasn't going to do anything about it. At that point, my enourmously angry and frustrated sister walked out. The manager then turned to me and said, "Most people don't come into work to take that kind of abuse. If you want to take your business elsewhere, go right ahead. Good day." The manager then pushed past me and started walking across the showroom. At that point, my temper frayed and became angry.
I told said manager that he was an "A**hole!"

But, get this, during the whole encounter with him, my sister, although angry, had never become abusive! Luckily, there are plenty of other places in the area where my sister can get her car worked on in a decent manner.
