Hey everyone! I have a problem, I was pulling into my driveway when I looked away for one second and my car went a foot too far to the right and I ended up jumping the curb with the front right wheel! Now I notice when I'm slowing down at about 15-20 mph I get a thumping sound, sounds like a loose lug and everytime the wheel spins that side of the wheel hits the rotor. It doesn't do the sound if the wheels are turned only when going straight. I checked the lugs and they seem to be pretty tight. Any Ideas? Thanks

You may have screwed up your CV joint. If you're not proficient in repairing stuff like that (like me) then get to the shop and have them take a look.

Coil springs/retainers are suspect on 'tours, I found. Might want to check that out, or at least keep that in mind as a potential failure in waiting. Good luck there, and pls. do be careful driving 'til you figure it out. I posted my horror story (coil broke loose, went into front tire) a while back, found it's a TSB -and an extended coverage thing- for non-SVT's only. Let me know if it is the coil, I'm making a list...

98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....

If I jack the car up, what do I need to look for to see if it is indeed the cv joints or any suspension component at that?
