This morning my sister gets in the car goes to start it and it cranks a while and ont eh second try starts. She puts it in reverse and teh engine stalls. After repeated attempts over the past 3 hours the car still won't start. The battery is fine, there is spark, there is fuel in the tank, and I can hear the pump working when I turn the key to on. It is around 40 degrees here so i doubt the lines are frozen. Except, even after repeated cranking there is no fuel smell like the engine is flooded. Anyone have any other ideas on what can be wrong. This came out of no where, car was running beautifully last night.

Engine? Year? Mileage?
If everything is in good shape, you would only smell a flooded engine near the exhaust.
Try pulling the fuel pump fuse, cranking until the sound changes (about 30 sec.) , and putting the fuse back in.
If you think you have no gas, check the fuel pressure while cranking.

Yea, I don't smell gas in the engine compartment or in the exhaust. I did pull the fuse in order to see if it was alright, it was. Let me try the cranking with out the fuel pump, and see what happens.

Ding Ding Ding, you are correct sir. Last night me and my dad were talking about it, and i said i bet the fuel filter is clogged he said no that wouldn't happen over night, it would show signs liek loss of power. So i told him by loss of power you mean like flooring the gas, having it start to go but then jsut die down. He said yea. So, to make a long story short, we replaced the fuel filter and it started right up. Thanks for the help.
