I am curious if anyone knows of when to start replacing suspension pieces on a V6 Tour' SE? It has about 32,000 miles on it and my wife drives it daily. The problem is the suspension leans noticebly more then it used to when it was new. Ride seems the same to me (I used to drive it), but she thinks its rougher. I am thinking its the struts/shocks. The ride was descent when stock but we both like a little more agressive then that. Does this situation happen to others? Or is it just us realizing that we want more? I think I will replace them with Koni's if/when I have to. But will that work with the springs on the SE since its not an SVT? Well, I will probably change that too since I want a better stance (not a lowrider). Oh well, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have 60k on my svt and it still rides pretty well. There is a possibility that you have a blown strut, to check for this look for oil on the outer surface of the strut. If you need to replace your struts konis should work fine with se springs, although you might just want to spend just a couple hundred extra bucks to have an optimized setup.

Thanks for the input. I will check that later tonight when my wife comes home. I hadnt even thought of that being the problem. I dont think that is it though, because I probably would have noticed some time when I was washing my car. I like to clean the wheel well and check for anything that may still be dirty. I would eventually like to swap the springs but my Mustangs draining a bit more of my finances then I had planned it would. Thanks again.

What is your other vehicle?

It could be all in her head! No offense intended. 32k is nothing!

I have a 98 SE which was soft as well. ST200 struts and BAT springs did the trick. Perfect stance with great handling - $600 US in total including install and alignment - well worth it.

You have it easy. I am at 113K with all my suspension being stock (to my knowledge) with the exception of my swaybar and boxed subframe.

Its getting replaced this spring/summer.
