Hey everyone...just wondering if it would be worth the money to buy the Ford Racing Intake manifold for my 96'ATX. I will also be buying the 65mm throttle body while i am at it(might as well ). Sleeper, i know you said it would fit a non zetec tour..correct..If so would installation be a one day project or is it too complicated for an average joe like me . I am asking you because you seem to know your contour stuff.I love working on my car and i pretty much know it like the back of my hand but i just need to know if there is anything i should be carefull of before i take my car apart. Hmmm, do i need a new gasket for my throttle body? I am hopeing to get a pretty good gain from this and i think that its very possible...don't you. I need an intake too, so hurry and develope yours Thanks guys.

Wouldn't be worth the money unless you have some head work to compliment the intake manifold.

The biggest bottleneck on the Zetec is the intake manifold replacing it you would see gains in performance without doing any internal work. but with internal work it would make it even better.

i once seen a intake for our cars at a car show i was at . the intake was amde by trick flow ....i have never seen such shotty workman ship in my life ...this intake had casting pits the size of the grand canyon ...god know what would happen if it was ever subjected to boost ...it would more than likly gernade .....the rep that was showing me the part siad it made a extra 15 hp at the wheels i just cant see that happening not with that poor of a casting ....i my self was going to replace the stock manifold but now im keeping it for the folowing reasons...

-its already gasket matched being its a composit materal
-lest heat soaking as compaired to an aluminum peice
-more smoother air flow being the stock one is ijection molded (no casting pits)
-its just plain lighter than the alunimum intake

the only down fall i have seen is a good back fire though the intake can explode the plastic intake ..when the aluminum one will take it ....also runing high boost on a plastic intake may not be a good idea high being anything over 15psi

there is always extrude hone for a casted part... just like they did to the duratec intake manifold I wouldn't waste my money on one that doesn't look like it was well made.

I was looking at www.steeda.com and I saw the 65mm throttle body that they have for the focus....I see no reason why it wouldn't fit. Of course i would have to buy the Adapter for the automatic tranny correct? I will be working on my car all at once so i need to get as much info as possible so i don't start taking stuff apart and then find out that the parts i bought won't fit. I got my tax returns back and i am going to spend a dookie load on just engine stuff(kinda working on the sleeper mode ) I am going to be buying the Intake manifold,A throttle body(not sure which one i should get), CTA intake, and then this summer i want to get the esslinger stage 2 head. What do you guys think? Please let me know if i am going to buy something that won't fit or if i have to buy something else also in order to complete the job...for example what about gaskets? Ooops i just read my first post..I accidentally said non zetec tours...well i meant non VCT tours...sorry if this confused anyone

ummm the connector for the throttle cable is different on the contour than the Focus for one.
