My gas pedal sticks off idle, just as I start to push on the pedal it pops and moves fine after that......

OK, I did a search and the onlt thing I came up with was to clean the TB. Well, I did that already.

Any other ideas?

Thanks, Matt.

Did you take your throttle body off when you cleaned it?

Either way, you can keep it on to fix this if you want. Just take a lint free cloth with some B-12 on it and completely remove the ring where the throttle plate rest inside the throttle body. Be sure the clean the top and bottom of the TB! Also, be sure the wipe the edges of the throttle plate really good.

Rule of thrumb, try to remove as much black as possible and do not use anything abesive.

Check of accelerator cable/linkage between pedal and TB may be in order.

It's about a 95% probability that it is caused by a dirty throttle body.

Buy yourself a $2.50 can of throttle body cleaner at AutoZone or some such store, remove the MAF, and have at it.

Follow the directions on the can of cleaner - use the whole can.

Reattach the MAF and all the wires and nonesuch, and you'll be good to go.

If you have any other questions, you may want to message BigJim here on CEG. He is the king of all that is throttle body-related.

Try to actuate the throttle butterfly by hand in the engine compartment. If it still feels sticky, then the TB itself is still the culprit.

Last time I cleaned my TB, I noticed it was "sticky" if I pushed the butterfly sideways (parallel to its axis of rotation) toward the front of the car, but it became smooth as silk if I pulled it toward the rear of the car. I could have front/back reversed here, but either way it might do the trick (and doesn't require any more disassembly, since you said you already cleaned the TB).

sounds like TB and/or cable are sticking, have someone inside the car step on the gas pedal while you inspect under the hood.

Thanks guys!
I guess I need to do some more looking/inspecting to figure out what's up with it.

Matt.
