well, ive got sort of a metallic noise that is (i think) coming from the right side. there is also vibration inside the car, and when i turn right the vibration stops. i've done some searching, and i think it might be the front passenger side wheel bearing. what do those sound like?
now officially a troll, i guess. used to have a black 96 SE, until it broke down one too many times.
now I'm hunting for a motorycle.

Yeah, sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me. I just had one replaced a month ago. PM me if you want to get together and have me take a listen.

Mine sounded like I had monster truck tires on when it got pretty bad.

Had my rear ones go bad couple years ago, replaced under warranty! Thought it was bad road noise ,but didn't change pitch when the surface changed, then thought it was my borlas, or even engine noise. It made a roar the faster I'd run, so by process of elimination and through the dealer we had them replaced, cured the noise.

My rear wheelbearings sounded like I had big mud tires on or maybe someone was running a grinding wheel in my back seat.
My front bearings were a bit less intrusive but they affected the steering and the feel of the suspension too. They made a sort of thunking noise when making small direction changes at speed, and the passenger one made a noise similar to the rears when turning hard left.
don't drink and drive.
