I just had my car scanned with a OBD II scanner and I got the code (P1519),
Intake Manifold runner control is stuck open. Is the controller on the upper
or lower intake manifold? Can I fix it with instruction or do I have to
take this in?? Please help.

Its a problem with the secondaries. I dont know if the secondaries are either the upper or lower intakes though... -Nick

The controller, or "brain" for the secondaries, is on the front valve cover, right under that black plastic trim piece. THe secondary butterfly valves themselves are on the lower intake manifold. I'd start by removing the upper intake manifold and getting a good look at those secondaries. Odds are, they are just carboned up and stuck, especially if you never had them cleaned.

If you loosen the accordian hose you should be able to get your hand onto the secondary linkage to see if it moves or is stiff/stuck. It's about 3" or so under the TB on the lower intake. If the linkage moves OK, you probably have a problem with the IMRC controller.

I had this problem. I bought one at www.ford-outlet.com for a discount. Put it in myself. If I had to do it again, I would figure out a way to eliminate the IMRC and remove the secondaries and control the a/f with an apexi.

I looked into the IMRC on the Valve cover, but I could not find a thing. (Plus I don't know what to look for in there). Could the problem be at the secondarys??
