I have noticed since new so not sure if it common thing or just mine? When pressing gas pedal to bring up revs in nuetral they drop off slowly and then fall back to idle closer to 2500rpm mark quickly. Also when letting off the throttle when approaching a stop I don't seem to notice much engine braking at first, it feels like an automatic would feel when you coast.Accells from stop quickly on the revs and makes a big punch at 4000 when the secondaries open feels like my old SVO did when the turbo came on. Been a blast to drive especially at Texas Motor Speedway at SVTOA meets. 98 E1 pro flow MAF borlas

I did the "Throttle Hang" fix on my 99 SE, even though I kinda liked the eagerness of the engine like that. Worked like a charm and cost me a whopping $0.26 American.

Give it a shot.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Thanks for the response but it isn't the Air Bypass valve since the revs don't 'hunt' up and down, I had an 84 SVO that had the bypass valve always getting dirty and doing that revving thing. The note about Steve Westin's fix seems like it might work.Since the revs do react to the pedal properly just seem to come down slow at first. thanks

We have an idle air control valve. Same principle.

However the PCM is programmed to open this valve on decel (lift throttle) to reduce emissions. This is why you get the throttle hang.

The TH fix is what you want!

Read up, learn, and get on with it already.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
