I was just wondering if the clouded lenses are a common thing with the Contour. I have seen a couple others and tried to use plastic polish on it but no go.I can buy new ones but don't like the price much and wonder if they too will cloud over?

If 3M Finesse it doesn't work or any other polishes don't work I'm sorry to say, but I would buy new ones. It is common on our Tours that have some-what higher miles and that have been exposed to the sun alot.

Yeah it did sit in the Texas sun for few years at work but I have kept it low on mileage thanks to a beater work car now. Also I put in those Sylvania silver star bulbs and it looks cool but they seem to be less illumination at further distance, maybe the clouding might have something to do with it? thanks for the response.

Or, you could go my route and get in a minor fender bender that just barely cracks the mounts on each headlight assembly, then insurance buys you new ones. If you can hit a tow hitch, you also get a newly painted bumper, new front grill, and a nice new hood...all for the price of a deductable.

I guess they kind of put you on a monthly payment system with your new monthly premium.

That's crazy talk! If they're the post-98 lenses, I had the same problem. Sanded them with 2000 grit paper and polished them. Like new. BLING BLING

yup, sanding works the best. Mine are nice and clear now after some sanding and polishing. Just be sure to protect them w/ a good quality polish/wax or they'll yellow up really quickly...

Well i was despreate at the time so i looked for any type of abrasive cleaner i could find at my in laws shop. Mine were so bad that it didnt mater if didnt work they could get any worse so i tried it and it worked. Sanding is proabably a better thing though
