Hey guys - I have done a search - could not find any references to this problem.

I recently had a new stereo system installed in my Contour, including speakers (5x7's, JBL GTO7525). My driver's side door panel is squeaking like a mouse now. Brought it back to the shop and had them make sure everything was tight, but to no avail. Anyone else ever have this problem? Anything I can do to make the damn thing quiet again? Nothing like driving down a rough road and listening to what sounds like a nest of birds in my door...

Before I assembled my door panels after installing speakers I went over the area where the mesh is looking for loose spots. I sealed up the spots with some of that household welder cement. A couple of the plastic welds were questionable so I glued them too. The glue works good on speaker screws to keep them from backing out over the years. If you used T nuts to fasten the speakers they can let out a serious squeak. eek

Use WD-40...works on all sorts of squeaks...
