california speedway is a good track. i have a cougar and trap at 92mph there. unfortunately i have sucky 60ft's, need to work on em.

with 2.4-2.5 60ft's i got a 15.5@92

ur car should not be trapping that low. something could be wrong with ur car or ur shifting.

A number of things could cause low trap speeds (the MPH is how fast you are going at the 1/8 and the 1/4 mile respectively). Most likely, with a new racer, it's just a skill thing. Slow shifts, early shifts, or just plain nerves. Nothing a little practice won't fix.

However, a whole host of things could cause low traps. Here's a short list, off the top of my head: excess weight, bad weather conditions (hot/humid), dirty air filter, dirty intake manifold, bad (lean or rich) air/fuel ratio. Basically anything that robs the car of power can and will slow trap speeds.
