Hello all,

I have a 95 Contour GL, and latly it has this wierd problem, ABS comes on when I breake and the speed is below 40 KPH. It is highly annoying and not very safe. I just had a timing belt and the breakes changed, and cannot afford to take the car to the dealer to service it. The breakes themselves are 100% ok, new calipers new rotors new pads.

Can I disable the ABS completly.. at least for a while untill i come up with funds?

Thank you.

might want to check some of the break lines, like the ones that lead straight to the calipers. If one of them is slightly damaged it will cause it to go on. Mine was slightly damaged, and I thought it would last, and it burst when i had to slam on my breaks, and lost all breaks almost. replaced the break hose, and the ABS light has never shown again.

I did, the lines are perfect, as I said I had rotors, calipers, and pads changed 2 days ago. And the lines were checked out too.

Is there a fuse or anything that I can take out to disable ABS ?
