I posted once before and little feedback. I have noticed that my car upon hard acceleration pulls the front end sideways motion to left and up and letting off completely plows to the right and down.

also when I'm turning to the right ONLY the car at one points grabs and hooks hard to the left. When I find this sweet point I can't make it the car go go left to right by just pressing the gas. Terry said it mike be differential but there no clunking.

I also have the phantom Grip in there when installed year ago did not interfere with it.

I was so mad I brought it to get another alignment and they said it perfect except for the right rear tire was about 1 degree out which cannot be adjusted. Could this be it?

Or is it the phantom grip which is just two plates with a spring betweent the spiders gears maybe grabbing.

Help I'm pissed at my car. I need this fixed before my turbo comes in.

It could be your differential...before getting a turbo kit i'd invest in a Quaife LSD...it'll give you solid accel. off the line, and you're gonna need it with the turbo...i had to get one on my old neon when i got my turbo...and if you dont have it already, get a clutch kit and a lightweight flywheel...

Torque steer?

The phantom grip is a POS.

Possibly control arm bushings.

Broken sway bar link.

Engine/Trans mounts.

thanks yall for the help

I think Demon is making sense because the front ends feels reals loose like it moves when under a bind. I was told by the guy that the front was sound and was not loose. I saw him pull on the wheels and tug.

Is it possible the bushing could not be felt and by looking at them should I be able to tell. I have'nt had a chance to get under my car. thanks to gravel driveway mad

I know it not tourque steer because the car never done this before.

And I have to say I put the ES mounts in front. Lately I noticed the car in reverse will sometimes clunk softely.

How would the transmission mount create the pull effect?

How much does it cost to fix these control arm bushings.

Could the rear bushing contribute because there worn on the camber?
confused

hmmmmm...interesting...when my tranny was replaced i had a couple bad tranny mounts replaced by dealer....i looked and the engine mount by the coolant res looks new and the one down by the radiator, but the one directly over the tranny looks old....anyway since then i just had the serp belt changed and now my car pulls hard to the right....i added air to my front tires yesterday (but need to double check them today) and i even retightened the lugs on the right front wheel and those things seemed to help but my car is pulling kinda hard to the right now and its never done it before....im just wondering what they coulda done while changing belts that would mess up the steering....

How would the transmission mount create the pull effect?because its directly bolted to the engine and the front wheels. if its allowed to move it will cause you problems with torque steer

BurritaSVT,

Have you had the Lower Control Arm Bushings checked ???

When the car is on the Alignment Ramp, they may be in perfect alignment.
When the car is being driven, the driving force, could be putting just enough pressure
on worn busings, to make the lower arms move out of alignment.

Terry Haines is working on rebuilt lower arms with new bushings that are either Urethane, or have GREASE fittings.

Did this happen after installing the ES mount bushings? I have similar problems after installing the ES bushings. I removed them and it still happens. I was told I shifted the drivetrain during installation.
