I think part of the reason healthcare prices have gone up is because most people don't actually pay for their healthcare. Either they purchase insurance, or the government pays for their healthcare.
Very few people actually pay the bill themselves, so the prices are inflated.
Not to mention cost shifting in healthcare, the costs to pay for those who don't have insurance are shifted to those who do.
That also drives up costs

Um...last time I checked, this wasn't the United Socialist States of America. I'm sick of people expcting the federal govt to pay for everything...If people are starving, THEY SHOULD GET A JOB! I'm so sick of paying taxes just so the damn democrats can hand it out to a buncha lazy non-working motherfukcers. People expecting handouts are the plague of our country!

Hmmm. It would be interesting to see some numbers on the numbers of those with private/govt/no insurance.

One thing that seems to be continually left out...the world has been dealing diplomatically with Iraq for 12 years. At what point do you finally decide to enforce the resolution these very same countries signed? It's not like the US woke up six months ago and said it's time to strike Iraq. Therefore, I don't see this campaign as a signal to the rest of the world that it's okay to go pre-emptatively strike those countries they perceived as a threat. We went through the UN and tried to get these folks to follow through on their resolutions. They would not. They wanted to continue give Sadaam time to do whatever it is he wanted to do.
