Just teh other day, I heard a rattle from the bottom right side of my 98E0. It only happened from 2nd to 3rd gear. I lifted the right side up and started banging aorund with a rubber mallet. I discovered that the Catalytic Converter was the culprit. When it was hit with the mallet, something would just rattle around in there. This happened to anyone? If so, what do you suggeset replacing the cc with? Maybe this has something to do with the hissing sound upon acceleration?

yes it happened to my 1996. the best/only way to take care of the problem is to pull it off, and look in the pipes on ither side to make sure there are no pieces in the pipes (autozone might do it...dont knw but i know midas will) and then replace it. if you would rather i know a place where you can get a niiiiiicccce Borla exhaust system. hope it helps!
