There are these two trucks near my house, one a Lightning the other a modified F150 that I drive by once in a while. Well, I saw him in His Lightning driving through a parking lot so, I drove up to talk to Him about His truck. Right away he pops the hood on his '95 black Lightning to give me a look. All I could saw was HOLY COW!!!! The first thing I saw was a Vortec blower and then the list went on, and on, and on. 4" duel exhaust to 6" tips, 6" aluminum drivshaft, duel mode tranny, 1800 stall street, 3800 stall for the strip, a destroked stroker, 18#s of boost and so on.
Then I asked what kind of power he was getting, His awnser, over 930HP at the REAR WHEELS!!!!
Then he asked if I wanted A quick ride, I knew quick was not just a term.
So, He took me out. I spent most of the time holding on to anythig I could. He started to laugh and told me to look at the accelerator pedal as he turned the dome light on. He wasn't even on the gas at all! I also got to feel what a 3800 stall felt like when he gave it some gas from a stop, this time I knew to put my head against head rest. I have to say this thing would do well in a burnout contest!! He also showed me that part of it too!
His other Truck has a 2 stage nitrous system and twenty somthing pounds of boost. With the nitrous that truck dynos over 1100HP at the rear wheels!!!
I'll take some pics of the trucks and dyno sheets for you guys when He gets back from a car show next week.
Btw, He said the Black one runs 9's at the strip.
Yehaw!!

Ya, that's what I thought when I was talking to him.
I guess when the truck is at the track with the slicks on, it usually lifts the front tires off the ground. He said that he has even broken the carrier on a Detroit locker.
But, I guess you can do that when you get over 30 grand in sponsorship money each year laugh

ridebmxsvt,

93, 94, and 95 model years are 1st generation Lightnings. I should know I owned a 1994 red Lightning before I my 2000 SVT contour. With mods, a first generation Lightning could get into the 12's (street legal). A truck that can get into the 9's would not be street legal (at least not in Houston). Most Lightning owners are fanatical about their trucks.
