Yes, chances are it's the waterpump. Might as well change the thermostat while your in there. Don't drive the car in an overheated condition or you could do much worse damage! (Like wreck a head or head gasket) A good deal on a WP change would be about $200. You can do it youself for under $100. Autozone and other parts stores usually have the parts.
