Last night it was about 65 degrees or so. It was a beautiful night, and my tour was running a lil hot. Up in in the M of the temp gauge.. I got my coolant checked when I got my tranny fluid changed and it was good. Would could have caused it to change running temps so drasticly? Could it be the water pump?

Difficult to answer without point of reference of normal position of temp gauge and car mileage.
If O/R normal, then lack of lo-speed rad fan operation may be the cause.
WP impeller failure tends to be catastrophic and causes temp pointer to head straight to the red zone.

Sounds like normal operation for the Zetec engine which runs hotter than the v6. Defroster turns on a/c which automatically turns fans on at hi-speed.
