Sorry, probably a stupid question, but what would happen if I put Konis on the CSVT with my stock springs? Would the result be good? Thanks.

It would work fine, and the handling would be improved. I have had no direct experience with the konis, but for the best handling possible, they might be valved a little too agressively for stock springs.

This would be very similar to how the M3's used to be setup. They had easy riding springs with very aggressively valved struts. I think you would see nice results. While you are at it you should get new SVT springs.

Why is that? Its always been my understanding for the most part springs rarely wear out.

That's one of the better ideas I've seen on here. If you're not into lowering the ride height, and simply want to benefit vastly improved handling, that's definitely the better route.
Don't pay attention to the guy rollin' his eyes. I'm very curious to hear the technical explanation behind his comment.

Ignorance is bliss!
If you have low milage, use the ones you have now. If you have higher milage why not split with $150 extra and get a fresh new set free of any problems. Just my opinion.

Not a stupid question in the least. I have the Konis w/ stock springs and the AussieBar. I am very pleased and recommend this setup. The car not only feels much more solid, but better connected to the road. For a more detailed description see this thread. -Brent

That's exactly what I want. I really do not want to lower the car and spend money on new springs. My car has about 36,000 miles, which doesn't seem all that high. My springs seem to be in good condition. Thanks for the input. Any additional comments welcome.
