Lately when my car is cold the transmission is difficult to shift into reverse. This has just started since it has always been easy to shift into reverse, warm or cold. It still is easy to shift into reverse when the car is warm. Do I need to change the transmission fluid or is there something else going on? I have 62,000 miles on a 2000 SVT Contour and the transmission fluid has never been changed. The Ford service manual does not give a specified time interval to change the transmission fluid.
