I changed my front pads/discs the other day and when i went to take it for a spin they don't seem to work very well. like almost a little mooshy and when you hammer down on them usually it would lock the wheels right up but it just doesn't seem to have the touch it had before. Anyone know why?

1. New pads need to seat into the rotors before they come into their best operation. Machining the rotors or at least scuffing them up with a sanding disc cam help make this faster, but it doesn't do away with the need to seat them in.

2. You may need to bleed the brakes to make sure there is no air in the system.

3. You may have installed the retainer clips improperly. This is a common mistake with results like you are describing.

What pads did you install?

Did you install the caliper springs? Correctly?

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
