OK, CAI not a good idea. At least not for the SVT. It might be that I need to clean my filter and reoil it but within 7 days of having it installed I got a CEL yesterday. I took it off and reset the computer today and the CEL is gone. I will drive around awhile and see if it comes back.

On a side note. Pulling fuse 11 for the eec to reset computer doesn't work. At least not for my car. I had to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Which was a PITA because my battery is relocated under my box for my subs which is not meant to come out of the car. I think I will redo the battery relocating a little better next time.

You have to disconnect fuses 4 and 11 to reset the pcm.

I had read on a post that fuse 4 wasn't the same and that we only need to pull fuse 11. IMHO I think pulling the negaitve terminal is just as easy anyway(as long as you don't have 75 pounds of mdf and speakers sitting on top of it).

One fuse is for the ECU and the other fuse is for the ECU memory.

The problem with CAI setups is that the filter is close to the bottom of the engine bay and more susceptible to dirt, water, and other contaminants. My setup still allows the filter to remain under the hood, but completely heatshielded. Another thing. Adding more length to an intake inbetween the MAF and air filter will only hinder peformance. The shorter the distance from the TB to the air filter, the better since the air filter is a restriction and slow the air charge down. Plus I am collecting air instead of catching it. Every 7 days you WILL clean your filter though.

So maybe putting the MAF sensor at the end of the cold will fix the CEL problem...

I will try it and see if it works.

Also, you are correct about it getting dirtier for most people, but my engine bay already gets dirty fast because of the hood so I end up cleaning the filter all the time anyway.

I live near them, that's were I'm going to get my intake fabricated and powder coated when I'm done with the proto type.
