Does the slave cylinder have to replaced at the same time as the clutch? Also what about the throwout bearing? Just get one at the parts store?

As I understand it..the slave cylinder is the same thing as a throw out bearing (FWD vs RWD lingo). Its always wise to replace all 3, as the hassle involved just to seperate the tranny from the engine is quite large! I talked to Eric at BAT, and Terry Haines of HMS Inc, and they both feel that the stock clutch will handle 220 hp well if you're good with the clutch and stick. If you plan on the 1/4 mile, another clutch may be needed.

World of difference FWD/RWD re transmission removal for clutch replacement. Suggest you read Haynes manual or obtain Ford service cd (see classifieds) before committing to DIY.

For alternate clutch linings, browse the Transmission Mod forum.

Total agreement. If it's time for a new clutch, it's time for a whole new assembly -- or soon will be. The time/effort required to R&R the tranny makes it highly advisable to redo it all at the same time.
