Yesterday I noticed a hose coming off my intake was broken, like cracked, it is the hose that connects the air intake to the snorkel, i taped it up temporarily and ever since then my car decides that it wants to stall at any time i want to stop, red lights, stop sign, pedestrian crossing, that sort of thing. I also wonder if anyoen knows how big the catalytic converter piping is, 2 and a half, 3 inches???? Where can i get a cheap replacement A/C Compressor, mine is shot, makes all sorts of racket, and looks liek its about to break!! Well, this is it this week, I am sure next week I will have more issues, can anyone help me with these ones??

V6 or 4 Cyl.? Intake leaks will cause some of the stalling you mentioned. Replacement tubing shouldn't be that expensive from the dealer. Until then use more/better tape or put on an aftermarket intake. IIRC pipe into main cat is like 2 1/2" but only 2" out the back for stock pipes. The stock flex pipe just before the main cat iirc, is a little over 2" ID.

Hmmm, Not sure what you're calling a "snorkel" ? But the intake (starting at the fender) consists of fender coupling, airbox, gasket, MAF, accordian tube (w/ inner/outer hose clamps) and finally the throttle body and intake manifold. There are 2 little hoses and 1 larger hose that hook up to the accordian hose. You should be able to get a replacement for either of these 3 at autozone etc. The accordian hose itself will have to come from a dealer. Leaks or cracks in any of these will cause problems.

the hose that is cracked is one of the hoses coming from the acordion, but its not the actual hose, its teh coupler from the hose to the engine snorkel, not sure, jsut what the mechanic called it, its a small little hole that the hose from the accordion finally attaches to!

thanks

I think there is one that goes to the EGR valve. Could that be the one you're referring to?

For the A/C compressor, usually they ain't cheap. I think A1 Cardone makes a decent one. I'd call Advance or Checkers/Schucks/Craigen for prices, they usually offer very good reman products w/warranties.
However, try a junkyard, just make sure to have it checked out first.

Ok, liek said, off the accordion tube there are two tubes, oen going towards the windshield of the car and going into the engine, where that happens there is a coupler that was torn, i taped it up and put itback on for a temporary fix, and now my car stalls everytime i stop? Why in the hell is that? Everytime I fix somethign, somethign else breaks, or it doesn;t get fixed right, this car has a curse!
