Does anyone have any tips for shifting, I'm stuck at a 14.9 1/4 mile @ 89 or 90. Maybe some different shifting techniques? I'm running a 98 csvt w/ intake, exhaust, underdrive pulleys, platinum plugs, 9mm wires so I should be running better than what I am.

a b&m shifter might take .1 sec off that time.

Give a run down of your entire run...60', 330', 1/8th, mph, 1000', 1/4, mph. That will help explain the low mph with your et, and help us determine if you can run any better. IMHO a 14.9 at 90 is pretty damn good(hooking well?).

Wowzers! You ran a 9.8 in the 1/8th. Then turned a 14.9 and you're only at 89 or 90? Thats a little weird. -R-

Hmmm, the times look close to mine but slower through all the intervals. Let's compare (him/me):
60': 2.35/2.27 330': 6.46/6.31 1/8: 9.83/9.70 1000': 12.63/12.54 1/4: 14.94/14.97 1/4 trap: 90/93
Notice the differentials: +.08, +.15, +.13, +.09, -.03. I'd believe the 2.5 could pull on me at the top end with headers (even though I've never experienced that on a track before) if it wasn't for the low trap speed. Based on those traps, I'd be pulling away instead of being reeled in.
Something doesn't add up. Just my personal observation.

If you really are concerned with time and not longevity you can do what is referred to as "Power-Shifting". This is when you DO NOT let up on the throttle between shifts. Keep it mashed and shift as quickly as possible and instead of releasing the clutch pedal with your leg, side-step it. this will gauranty either a faster ET or a grenaded Tranny. If you still have a warranty, give it a shot. You had better keep a couple friends close by as they will have to help push your car off of the track's property. Warranties and Insurance are voided upon entering any racing facility.
