I've recently completed 2 auctions on ebay, one as the seller and one as the buyer. It's been about 2 weeks now since both have ended and I promptly left positive feedback for both parties involved in the auctions, but neither has left any for me despite me having sent 1 polite email to each individual stating that I'd left feedback, giving the auction number and asking that they do the same. Can these people just be dicks in this case and get away with it?? It says I can't retract my feedback so it kind of sounds like I'm screwed? I only have a (3) at this point so more feedback is important to me, effin bastards.

As far as I know, feedback is not an obligatory thing with eBay. However, I'm sure if you kindly e-mailed them requesting feedback, for rating purposes I don't think they would have a problem, give it a try. I always leave feedback when I buy something off eBay, hell, it only takes 30 seconds.

I have probably been involved in about 80-90 auctions as both a buyer and a seller, but only have about 45-46 feedback. Not everyone will leave feedback, it is just the way it is. But a nice email can't hurt.

that sucks, it should be obligitory. Part of customer service, the only reputation you have is your feedback and the more positives, the better. Lazy bichez. No excuse for lazyness.

I used to do a little trading on e-bay selling computer parts I bought in bulk. I used to give the best prices for them, and one time bent over backwards for one guy. He bought a GForce2 which was DOA for him. I then replaced it with a GForce3, with an upgrade price of about $75-100, taking all of my profit from some 50 cards I sold. I also had everything shipped next day guaranteed delivery, paying for both him to ship back to me, and me to ship to him, so he was without for about 3 days.

He posted lots of bad stuff about how he received a bad part, took forever to get his replacement, then, get this, had the damned nerve to [censored] that the replacement wasn't what he ordered !!! Damned cheek of the bugger, it was better !!!

Well, I don't bother with e-bay too much now, as that single comment destroyed my reputation.

I politely e-mail a guy asking him to leave feedback, he fired back "I don't just hand out feedback, you have to EARN it!" wtf? I sent a money order out the same day the auction ended, and posted feedback as soon as I got the item. What more do ya want? Some people!

thats why i dont leave feedback til they do. as a seller i wait for the buyer to leave feedback then i'll leave mine. i usually will hint it in the emails with the buyer "pls dont forget to post feedback once transaction is complete and your satisfied with the transaction."

if that said what he said, he's a major prick.

as a buyer, i leave feedback once i get the product and i'm satisfied. i think most sellers will leave feedback because its crucial to them whereas some people are buyers only and dont care cuz they have the money and u want their money so your going to kiss their butt to get the sale.

take my advice, as a seller wait for the buyer to leave u feedback. if i were u and didn't leave feedback and got this email from this guy, i would've left a neutral response explaining why and blocked the guy from my acct. i dont care if he'd want to offer a grand for a 1 dollar item. or u can wait til the last minute to leave someone neutral or neg feedback (i think its like 45 or 90 days after the auction is over). that way they can leave feedback cuz the period is over

The worst is when you leave a powerseller or some one important feedback and they wont leave you any no matter how excellent the transaction went! Ive dealt with this numerous times and im getting fed up with it. I know they are pretty busy, but they wouldnt have that reputation if it wasnt for the feedback that was left!!! On the other hand, ive gotten more feedback then I havnt so I wont complain to much yet.
