I think the sensor they are talking about is for some Cougars. Some Cougars have a light on the dash (or maybe it is the upper consol) that comes on when the pads are nearly worn out.
Anyway, you don't need the sensors so get the cheaper ones. If you do end up with pads with sensors, the wires can be cliped off with wire cutters.
when i replaced my brakes they came with a sensor and didn't fit, i had to take them back and get new ones. but yeah, go with the non-sensored ones.

I just installed bendix pads I got from anastazi, and I am incredibly impressed. VERY little dust, and they feel a lot better than the stock. PM anastazi, he may give ya a deal!

Main differences:
The EBC pads did bite a bit harder at first, but, minus that fact, the bendix titaniums are just as great. One day of dust from the EBC's is equal to about 2 weeks on the Bendix... surprised. There is basically NO dust from these bendix pads. Just thought you guys would like to know.
Peace!
Bob, though you had a bad experience with the rotors, please let us clarify that they were not CTA rotors, as we are not a brake manufacturer, but were KVR Performance rotors purchased through CTA. Of the many sets of Contour rotors that we have sold, we have only had a minimal number of emails, including yours, noting warpage after such a short period of time. If this is a common problem, then this must be taken up directly with KVR. Customer feed back, to the manufacturers, must be heard, because at the dealer level, many a time our concerns are passed over and forgotten (I am not speaking of any one manufacturer). There are many factors that can cause brake warpage and frankly, I will not get into that discussion. There is plenty of information on the internet. We are using the exact same KVR brake rotors on our Contours, SE fronts were upgraded to 278mm SVT rotors, and have not had them warp to this day.
No comment on EBC except for we don't carry them any longer.

Yes, sorry Chris... I did not mean to squander your business... let me clarify... they were KVR rotors purchased from BAT. I had another buddy of mine that got the same rotors but different pads... and his are fine, and we both broke them in on the same days. I think the EBC pads have great bite and stop great, but do create a lot of dust, and probably let too much heat out into the rotor (could NEVER get them to fade)... therefore being too aggressive. That's just my thought... sorry again chris...!

I've had these rotors for a couple of years now and they're fine...
