When I go to the gas station to fill up I have to squeeze very slightly so that the pump does not stop as if the tank were full. It takes me alot longer to pump the gas and if I squeeze all the way (or even half way) the pump cuts out.
It used to do this very ocassionally, but now it is all the time with old and new pumps alike. Very frustrating.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there a fix ?

Yeah, I've played around with the nozzle quite a bit. I've tried every conceivable angle with no luck.
I think I remember reading something about the filling tube before, but I don't remember what the deal was.

Go see the dealer there was a TSB and at one time the one way flapper located at he end of the filler tube was replaced. Gas tank end. I've heard some had the whole fill tubed replaced. Somebody's idea to save a penny. The plastic it was made out of swelled and the flapper stuck, thus the filling problem. TSB 98-15-3

Get an OASIS report. There might be a recall for this problem. My car has such a recall on OASIS. It is one of those don't repair unless it is acting up recalls. It also expires. Even if mine were acting up, it has too many miles to qualify.

I forgot to add last night, I too have learned to live with it. However I do have a piece of semi-rigid nylon 3/16" tubing approx. 57" long. Just something I'd had in the garage. Well it says in my trunk now. Just insert the tubing and poke/bum the flapper, remove and it fills just fine. Since this worked I decided to nix the fix. I didn't want the tank cracked (something to do with being a pain too drop the tank) since at that time there where no spares in the parts system??????? summer of 99

Happens very infrequently now??? Must have worned the flapper. It'll probalbly do it when the weather warms, if that ever happens again?
