how is it that these super charger thingies keep coming up and no one seems to know about them

as so many people here and other places have said to give that boost it takes power.

assume you could get these e rams to work which i have heard from many people that yes infact they do work. the basics of it is simple, at WOT you have a vacuum in your intake or a lower pressure than the outside pressure the fan just helps increase the pressure inside the intake to what the outside pressure is. that being said it doesn't really give you boost it just eliminates the vacuum.

now on the same not its gonna draw power to run this fan. meaning its gonna put a heavier load on your altenator in which case your gonna lose power b/c your driving your alternator.

the fan doesn't make your engine create more horse power it just makes your engine more efficient.

if your gonna buy anything like this go with the e ram they've been around for a while. which suggests that their product doesn't actually suck that bad.

i've seen everything from 12v computer fans to giant sized leaf blowers used as "superchargers"

if you have the money go for it it'll be fun if nothing else.

The fan does give a boost, and will create a positive pressure if the remaining restrictions in your intake are mostly downstream of the fan. On a Zetec with a custom intake, the biggest restriction is going to be from the throttle body, manifold, and valves, so upstream of that point you'll probably have positive boost. On my setup I believe the pressure within the intake pipe was about 0.4 PSI above the surrounding atmosphere.

still waiting for it to come....im gonna stick a K&n cone filter on one side and the other to the air flow sensor....if it does get rid of the vaccum that would be creating hp...and the motor is electric(the 40,000) In theory the idea is good...its just people over estimate the gains... and it may need a little custom modifyin...i think for $50-75...a gain of 10hp woudl be a good invesment...I dont have anyway of dynoing the charger...but i'll give it a good road test.
