I wonder if anyone has any solutions, my dash illumination has blown its fuse twice I checked the stereo like most people said and found that it was not the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Where's is that fuse? I'm wondering because all the backlights just went off today...

Is it the fuse box in the engine compartment or the one under the dash?

Have you messed with any of the bulbs? The bulbs for the interior of the car are connected to the same line. 7.5amp fuse, IIRC. If you changed any wiring it could be grounded somewhere. I have no idea what mods you may have done but give us some more info.

I have the same problem. Mine blew along with the fuse in the alarm that hooks up to the parking lights. The people at where I got the alarm installed said my stereo is causing problem. What's some way to fix this?

The fuse on mine blew again after I had them replaced yesterday... I think I grounded something when I installed the stereo 1.5 years ago.

When you have a fuse that keeps blowing and you cannot locate the intermittant short, you need to start adding fuses to the sub circuits. For example, if the cigarette light fuse keeps blowing and the same fuse feeds the dome light and the radio, add three fuses, one to the cigarette lighter, one to the dome light, and one to the radio. Make sure that the additional fuses are the same amprage or less. You will seldom have room to add the new fuses near the fuse panel. You will usually need to go somewhere closer to the load. You can find aftermarket inline fuse holders at almost any auto parts store. With the additional fuses, the next time it acts up, it will blow the fuse for the sub circuit and you will have narrowed down your search.

I am still having the same problem. I had redone the wire that's connected to the dash illumination on my stereo, but the fuse still blows. I had to up it to a 15amp fuse now because I can't find a 7.5amp around right now. What might the fuse also be connected to? I know my aftermarket alarm is also connected to the parking light, but they checked the alarm for me already, and that's not the problem. Where else might the dash light be connected to?
