I was just wondering if anyone has figured out a way of jerry rigging the trunk with some sort of spring mecanisim so that it opens better in cold weather; mine is pretty sticky. I have both cleaned, and lubed the seals on it in hopes that it would help, it did'nt. Any help is appreciated.

Try doing a seach on trunk spring or something like that in the forums. There is a specific Ford part that mounts to your deck lid with a little spring on it to fix the problem - it gives a little extra push to help prevent the trunk from re-latching when you open it. Sorry I can't tell you the exact part number, but I know it's here somewhere since I got one for my car a year or so ago.
Good luck

The supporting struts in the trunk have bad springs that lost their pushing force, and that makes the lid not pop. I knew ford had a "smart" solution like a "spring popper" but I hate to see them make money for their poor engineering or part sourcing.
My approach to get the problem is a piece of high rebound, rubber like foam cushion I found in my son's toy bin. It's about 1" thick. I cut it into shape and cut a slot on it so that I can slide it over the lock ring on the bottom of the trunk lid. when the lid is closed the cushion gets pressed, and when lock is released it'll push the lid popped. I may need to change the cushion every winter.

My supports have their lift, they just won't "POP" the hood. I hear it pop, but you can't see it, so I am getting the spring.

I had that problem and it drove me crazy. I ended up lowering my trunk latch and it took car of the problem. I actually lowered the latch to stop my subwoofers from vibrating the trunk and it ended up fixing this problem.

I already lowered the latch, it helped the "Pop" sound, but the lid still doesn't move....

Maybe you can try this...I moved the latch to the right (when standing in front of the trunk looking in) and it solved my problem. You might have to adjust it a couple of times to get it right. Good luck....MarkO
