Last Friday my CSVT got hit again, this time in the rear. Is there a bullseye on my car that I'm just missing?

Anyway, the trunk lid must be replaced. I like the way the SVTs look without the spoiler but am a little hesistant to go that route. Are the rear windshields different for Tours with and without spoilers? And what about the panel behind the back seat? Is it different or do you just cut a hole in it to get the wires for the new third brake light?

Rear window is the same in spoiler/non-spoiler.

Call me crazy but I like the factory spoilers the best. I think the SVT looks ok with no spoiler, but I think the ones with no ground effects look bad with no spoiler.

As far as I know the only difference is the cut out in the piece behind the back seats and about the wires i be willing to bet they are there and you just need to buy the brake light and hook it up. The cut out does also have places built into it that the brake light hooks into so you may either have to secure it yourself or buy a piece behind the back seat. Brian

Hey I just upgraded my pre-98 to the 98+ deck lid, my pre-98 is for sale complete with the pre-98 tail lights. Check the classifieds for more info.

I was looking into doing this mod for my tour. The ford dealer said there was a different connector for the window brake lite, Like a patch cord sorta. Total parts price to get 3rd lite in window and connector was around $115 new. You can find them in the junk yards for less just make sure you get as much of the wiring as possible just in case.

I never knew that there were some tour with no 3rd brake light in the rear deck. Wow, learn something new every single day. My '99 CSVT has the spoiler but the light is still in the deck not in the spoiler. Hmmm.

I have a problem. I'm mounting a post OEM spoiler on my decklid, but I have the "3rd" brake light to, as well as the light on the spoiler.

should I keep both? or disconnect the one in the window? or leave the spoiler? hrmm.

Having Both would look dumb, disconnect the one in the car, the one on the spoiler will be more visible. If you get the time you might even be able to take the third brake light out of the window.

I am having the same decisions to make. I think I am going to go a head and plug both in to see which looks better or if I just want to leave them both on. Have you had any trouble installing the spoiler? I am considering doing it myself.
