I think my wheel bearing is gone in the front.
I get this loud humming noise when I turn is that the wheel bearing?
What will happen if I do not get a wheel bearing replaced like ASAP?

sounds like it is the wheel bearing,depending on how loose it is u might not have to het it fixed for a bit or if it is very loose ,immediatly

Get it fixed right away. It will cause more problems to other parts if you don't.

If you want to find out if it actually IS the wheel bearing, try jacking the front side of the car till the suspected bad wheel is off the ground. Grab the tire at the top and bottom and see if the wheel rocks when you push/pull on the top/bottom of the tire. From the description, it could be low PS fluid, a bad sway bar bushing or a bunch of stuff in between.

There is no loose or tight like an old style RWD 2 piece bearing can have. No packing, no thrust washer, etc... Also 2 piece bearings normally only hum when they are overtightened or not greased.

God, it sound s like you guys did not replace your front bearings yet...(which I doubt...)
Greg, If your wheel bearing is shot, it will hum on the highway. When you turn opposite to the busted bushing, sount will go away. BTW, if you get it done, and are happy with the results, keep the shops name handy. My first one went out at 45K miles, the second at 47...
Todras is right, don't wait. I snoozed on the first one, and everything was seized together from the heat...

I just had a shop replace one at 69k. You can tell if it is a wheel bearing from when you turn. At a very slow speed 20mph or less and small turn you may not hear anything. Faster the speed, harder the corner, louder the hum. Definately highway speed in a corner you'll hear the hum. Ran around $170.

I am getting a wha-wha-wha sound from the rear of the car which I think is a bearing. Yes, the rears are sealed hub/bearing units. Much easier to change than the fronts. Cost about $40 at Advance auto. If you've ruled out your rear tires as the source of the sound, the bearings can cause this noise.

I replaced both wheel bearing last year.
Like mangler said...my symtoms were while driving turn wheel one way a little and sound gets worse turn other way it goes away.
