I was wondering if any company made a performance shift kit for an automatic V6 contour? I'm getting mine rebuilt right now so I wanted to put one in but I'm having a hrd time finding one. I checked level ten but they don't sell a shift kit. Thanks

Jerry

Trans Go is a national company. They have a huge market share. I would not be surprised if they outsell B&M 10:1.

Their products are first class.

B&M might make one for our cars too. Try a google search for B&M and see what you can find. B&M would not be my first choice though.

Does a chip do the same thing as the TransGo kit? I know chips usually re-map the shiftpoints, but the TransGo kit seems to do a whole lot more, according to their marketing. I'm planning to get a Superchip this summer, would a TransGo kit also be a worthwhile upgrade? I've already been through one tranny rebuild, and I'd like to do whatever I can to protect it, since I push it kinda hard at times.

That is actually about twice as much as a rebuilt should cost ... had my 4x4 96 Explorer go and needed and entire rebuild ... cost $1100. I have seen rebuilt CD4E sell for as little as $850 w/no core charge. Factor in shipping and our own time to install and it would still cost less than $1200.
