YOU MIGHT WANT TO REGROUND THE HEADUNIT AND MAKE SURE ALL OTHER GROUNDS ARE SECURE ALSO MAKE SURE THE PATCH CORDS ARE NOT RUN BESIDE POWER WIRE THIS CAN CAUSE ENGINE NOISE BUT MOST LIKELY ITS GONNA BE YOUR GROUND ON YOUR HEAD UNIT SINCE YOU HAVE THEM RUN DIRECTLY OFF IT AND NOT RUN THROUGH AN AMP (RIGHT?)

AND YES SOME ONE DOES MAKE A NOISE FILTER BUT IT MAY NOT BE NECESSARY

WAS THIS STUFF PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED?

Have you installed any equipment recently? If so that may be the cause of the whine.

Its commonly known as a "ground loop". The ground of one component in your system isn't the same as another, hence there is a current flow between them, causing the whine.

Making sure all your components are well grounded is the first step. Then isolating them one by one to see if which one is the cause.

If you are desperate I have a set of RCA ground loop isolators that will take the noise out of your RCA cables. Email me if you want to buy them, cheap.

Radio Shack makes a filter for about $20. i tried it in my old altima and it killed all speaker wine. I put the filter in the positive lead going into the head unit, then the filter has its own ground that i screwed into the frame.

your best off not using any filters if possible, but if you do decide to get one make sure u get a power filter and not just an RCA filter (did not work tried 2 diffrent ones).
